Summer Green at National Camp

Two U.S. Youth National Team programs will come together the weekend of October 23, 2011 when the U17 and U18 Women's teams gather for a weeklong camp that begins on Sunday at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA.

The U17s will be led by their new coach Albertin Montoya as they continue preparations for the 2012 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup. The squad most recently got together in August when they played a pair of friendlies against Japan.

Strong performers included Toni Payne, Morgan Andrews, Summer Green and Emily Bruder - all of whom are back this weekend.

On the U18s side, U.S. Soccer Women's Technical Director April Heinrichs has called up 30 players in their first meeting since June.

There are new faces for the U18s, including Freestate Soccer Alliance midfielder Riley Barger who is looking forward to showcase her skills during her first call-in.

Barger says "I think combining with the U17s is a great idea and it will make the team that much stronger and the level of play higher."
